The Women in Tech Regatta – despite the name a conference and not a boat race – aims to give attendees access to mentors, peers, resources, and the power of community. It is designed to educate, motivate, and stimulate career growth opportunities in the tech business.
The conference offers compelling panels with a diverse group of people, networking opportunities with people in tech who are making a difference in the industry, and breakout time during each session to connect, build relationships and share experiences and ideas to help one another move forward.
“The success of Swedish startups such as Spotify and Zimpler has turned Stockholm into a world-renowned tech hub. Stockholm has bred more tech unicorns per capita than any other region in the world except for Silicon Valley. It’s natural for WiT Regatta to come to Stockholm,” says Melody Biringer, connection engineer and WiT Regatta creator.
“Zimpler is proud to host the inaugural Stockholm Women in Tech Regatta together with Spotify. Zimpler wants to be a positive force in the spheres where we are a stakeholder, such as the payments industry, the labor market, and the Stockholm tech hub. We are an extensively diversified and globalized team, but we can always improve even further and the conference will help us learn a lot. Our goal is for everyone to be seen, heard and to walk away from this week with new ideas and relationships,” says Abel Buko, Sustainability Manager at Zimpler.

Founded in 2013 in Seattle, Women in Technology (WiT) was a not-for-profit organization which supported women through education and networking opportunities at quarterly events. WiT also endeavored to raise funds and visibility for mission-aligned nonprofit partners.
Melody Biringer, an original board member of WiT, created and produced the WiT Regatta through her firm The Crave Company. The inaugural Seattle Women in Tech Regatta was on Tuesday, May 2nd 2017, with over 700 attendees.
In 2018 the Regatta expanded to a week-long event in Vancouver, Amsterdam, as well as Seattle. The Regatta has grown in attendance and sponsorship support from the beginning, and will continue to be presented as a virtual, hybrid, and live event as circumstances allow.
